CAUTION! Read before using a Silicon Nitride Endpin:

Saddle Rider Music LLC offers Silicon Nitride endpins for research purposes.  Despite their popularity among cellists, and the impressive qualities of Silicon Nitride as a “super-ceramic,” they must be used with care.  We manufacture endpins using the highest quality materials and processes available and have never heard of one of our endpins breaking.  That said, there have been isolated instances of Silicon Nitride endpins by other manufacturers fracturing.  Under normal use, such a mishap is extremely unlikely, but cellists should exercise caution not to subject the endpin to shocks such as dropping it on a concrete floor or subjecting it to hard impacts especially when extended from the cello.  We warranty our Silicon Nitride endpins against breakage under normal use to the extent of the purchase price of the endpin.
